If you are one of the many people who are unable to work due to the coronavirus pandemic then you might have a lot of time on your hands and don’t know what to do with all of this extra time. Although this extra free time is something a lot of people have yearned for, being stuck inside and away from all the fun and entertainment during this crisis can make anyone feel imprisoned and nervous. However, this is the time to take advantage of this time and do something different that can improve your life and one of the best ways to do so is by updating your home. Updating your home can make you feel normal and motivated to do more stuff to your home. Adding some nice curb appeal to your home can make it look different than the rest of the neighborhood and it also makes it more desirable if you are thinking about putting it for sale. Here are some tips to get you started.

New Coat of Paint

If you love to stand out of the crowd then making your home look different from the typical house in your block can be very appealing, especially if you see the same style and design all over the place. If you ever put your home on the market then updating your door will help you tremendously along with making it easier for visitors to easily find your home when visiting. The easiest and most inexpensive route to take is adding a new coat of paint to your front door. Your front door may have been the same old beige for a decade or longer and now is the time to add some color to your home. By painting your home, you are allowing it to pop more while making it look amazing. You can choose any color you want to add some style or quirkiness to your curb appeal along with saving money on other aspects of this area.

Replace Old Hardware

Another way to save some money is to update your old hardware that is on the door. By doing this, you could potentially be saving quite a bit of money and avoid having to paint your door altogether. However, you can always update your door by both replacing the hardware and adding some color to it too. You can add your house number on the trim of your door, replace an old and rust mail slot, doorknob, peephole or any other hardware on it or around it.

Replace Entire Door

If you just want to start all over and don’t have the time to invest in small projects for your home then you can always replace your old door. Maybe your old door is not salvageable or you don’t feel creative enough to make this project happen and replacing it can really make your life easier and that is fine too. Replacing your door can also be a lot of fun because you have so many possibilities available to you for a door; you can have a door made out of solid wood, fiberglass, etched glass, or even metal. You don’t have to stick to the typical design type that is used which makes this option so much fun to do. However, we recommend having a professional install your new door to avoid any mistakes from occurring.

Everyone loves to decorate because it can be a lot of fun and calming when doing so. It’s also a lot of fun to look at all the possibilities out there to make your home look its best while showcasing your awesome style. You can add a unique wreath to your door, add a knocker to it, install some cute shutters to your window or some comfy furniture with pillows beside your door. You can also add some beautiful plants in wooden or tin buckets in your doorway, a picture frame on the door or even some lights. You can add just about anything on your doorway to make it stand out, it is just up to you to decide what fits your style. You can also add seasonal decorations like pumpkins for Halloween, a turkey wreath for Thanksgiving, lights for Christmas and so on.

High Tech

One of the best accessories to add to your front door is an audio/video door answering system. By adding this kind of gadget to your home, it ensures that you are taking care of yourself and your property since it can easily record what happens in your doorway area. It also prevents any problems from happening such as theft of packages, break ins and more. It is always safe than sorry.

Tidy Up

Always be sure to have your front door and entire front door cleaned up. When there is a lot of clutter around the home, it makes it look messy and it distracts the viewer from looking at the best qualities of the home which is why we recommend to tidy up the area. When your home is tidy, it shows that you care for your home and that means a lot no matter if you are selling your home or not. Although it is important for your home to look good while you have it on the market, it is also to begin cleaning it up even before you sell it so you can have a routine
